"It looks like wildly popular Nashville pizzeria Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria, known for its rap-themed pies and plenty of swagger, will soon make its Houston debut. A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of a recently filed limited liability corporation for an outpost of Slim & Husky’s in the Third Ward, though it doesn’t appear that an address for the impending pizzeria has been selected just yet. Back in June, Slim & Husky’s owners were scouting out locations in Houston, with stops at Texas Southern University and Emancipation Avenue. In February, the Nashville Business Journal reported that Slim & Husky’s had big plans for a nationwide expansion over the next five years, and Texas was at the top of the list of new locales for owners Clint Gray, Derrick Moore, and E.J. Reed. Since making its debut in Nashville in 2017, Slim & Husky’s has since expanded to six restaurants across the country, including two Nashville outposts, two restaurants in Atlanta, and a brand new location in the works for Sacramento. As far as the food is concerned, Houstonians can look forward to cheekily named pies like the “Rony, Roni Rone!,” topped with three different types of pepperoni and classic marinara, and the “Cee No Green,” a meat-lovers dream that’s topped with smoked bacon, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, ground beef, and pepperoni. Gooey cinnamon rolls are also a fixture on the menu, including the Cookie Monsta, which is topped with white chocolate sauce, Oreo cookies, and peanut butter crumbles." - Amy McCarthy
