"Warren Tavern is a Charlestown institution, founded in 1780 and frequented by Bostonian Paul Revere (his North End house is a 20-minute walk away). Ben Franklin and George Washington also visited, and it is where the latter’s funeral speech was given. While comparable institutions may have a tendency for becoming tourist traps serving mediocre-at-best food (see: Quincy Market), Warren Tavern remains a favorite spot for locals to enjoy lunch, dinner, or a drink.
