The Mob Museum shared by @eater says: ""Already a not-to-be-missed attraction downtown, The Mob Museum is almost ready to unveil its first major upgrade in five years. Right on schedule and headed to the basement, the new speakeasy, on-site distillery, and retail store cafe will now debut on April 18 according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. In the works since last April, original plans called for a 2,600-square-foot exhibition space documenting the history of the Prohibition Era. Behind a nondescript door, thirsty visitors who give the secret word can enter the hidden speakeasy decorated with an authentic period design, historically accurate bottles and lighting, flocked wallpaper, and vintage film clips played behind the bar. On the menu will be house-brewed beer, “genuine Moonshine made onsite from corn mash,” plus vodka, gin, and rum created in the basement's own distillery. The full bar will be mixing up recipes sourced from original 1920s cocktail books, including versions of Manhattans, juleps, martinis, smashes, rickeys, and flips. Overseeing the project will be Clint Thoman, last seen as the owner of Henderson’s shuttered Buddha Belly Deli. The museum will also be unveiling its expanded retail area featuring a new cafe, originally planned to be offering “light fare, including items like paninis and salads, as well as coffee beverages.”"" on Postcard
