"I note that Nightshade is officially closed — it never formally reopened during the pandemic despite a fierce effort to stay open with takeout in the first few weeks, and when asked about the closure former Nightshade chef Mei Linde declined to comment. The restaurant had previously earned significant acclaim (Eater LA Restaurant of the Year, Eater Best New Restaurant, and a James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant finalist) but never announced a return amid reopenings and closures over the past two years." - Matthew Kang
