"Facing imminent closure of its City Park stand after City Park opened bidding for the beignet stall that Café du Monde won, Morning Call says it’s considering legal action and feels it “didn’t get a fair deal,” owner Bob Hennessey told WWL‑TV. Morning Call notes it actually offered City Park a slightly higher percentage of revenue than competitors but was disqualified for missing a mandatory pre‑bid meeting; City Park CEO Bob Becker told his board Morning Call “was not considered responsive.” Hennessey said they were running late, that “it was over as soon as it started,” and that the board knew they were coming and should have notified them by mail and given a hearing. The company, which traces its history back to the 1870s, also recently closed its Metairie location in April after 40 years of operation." - Alison Baitz
