"Chloe Grigri is just about ready to open Le Caveau, the new Bella Vista wine bar upstairs from The Good King Tavern, which Grigri owns with her father, Bernard. She’s modeling the second-floor space after wine bars in France’s Loire Valley. It opens Thursday, October 24, on the corner of Seventh and Kater, just south of South Street. Le Caveau will share a French-focused wine list of more than 130 bottles with French bistro Good King downstairs. But unlike Good King, which has a full food menu, Le Caveau is more a spot for drinking and snacking than sitting down to a meal. All of the wines are sustainably farmed and produced, and most fall into the nebulous category of natural. As for the snacking: A counter behind the bar will store charcuterie, cheeses from France and Pennsylvania, olives, salmon rillettes, and French hot dogs, which are hot dogs on baguettes. The space has exposed brick walls, red pine floors, tin ceilings, and bistro furniture, with seats for 42. When the doors are open later this week, the hours will be Thursday to Saturday, from 6 p.m. to midnight. You can get to it directly from Seventh Street, or from a door inside Good King." - Rachel Vigoda
