On a recent night, I headed out to Ammazzacaffè, a restaurant that I had long been meaning to check out, to set the record straight. The garganelli bolognese ($22) — an all-time favorite pasta shape for me — is exactly what I needed on a blustery, winter night. Ammazzacaffè’s cozy, dark-wood interiors were perfect for a date spot that felt intimate but not scene-y.
