"At Hannamdong Hanbang Tongdak, 30-day-old chickens are marinated in a broth of Korean medicinal herbs (licorice, cinnamon, etc.) and slowly roasted over a wood fire rotisserie-style. The result is crispy, sweet skin encasing meat that is juicy and seasoned to the core. The chickens are a little small (so order one per person), but they’re quite substantial, stuffed with glutinous rice, garlic, jujube, and ginkgo. Try topping yours off with a piece of kimchi to cut through the hefty flavors and pair it with a draft beer. Go around 5 p.m., when the restaurant opens on weekdays, to avoid the multi-hour wait that builds up later in the evening." - Matty Kim
