"This longtime Flatiron lunch counter has been sold to new owners, Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York reports. Opened in 1929, its no-frills space at 174 5th Ave., near West 22nd Street, has barely changed and still participates in the old-school tradition of displaying photos of celebrity diners. I note that under Josh Konecky—who bought it in 2005 and saved it from demise—the shop retained its throwback feel and low prices, avoiding food trends: it offers all-day breakfast, many sandwiches under $8, and old-school classics like chopped liver and fried bologna, plus a peanut butter and bacon sandwich for $5; Konecky also added a grill and exhaust system to serve burgers. Konecky and co-owner Bonnie Taylor said on Facebook they 'passed the torch' to a new owner hoping things will continue as they were, and a current manager told Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York that 'Eisenberg’s will be running just as is.'" - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya
