"Promising a beachy, “eclectic bohemian” design and California cuisine, I report that the Bungalow Kitchen by Michael Mina at 5 Main Street in Tiburon debuts on Wednesday, November 3 and is helmed by Michael Mina with hospitality partner Brent Bolthouse and executive chef Joseph Offner. The 12,000-square-foot, two-story bayside restaurant — Martin Brudnizki’s first Bay Area project — channels a haute-hippie vibe with roughly 5,000 square feet of outdoor space across two patios, while an upstairs Salon is positioned as a North Bay late-night destination with cocktails, pool, a fireplace, and waterfront views. The menu leans on local, seasonal ingredients and ranges from snacks like a Garden Crudité Bowl and Dungeness Crab “Pop-Tart” to raw-bar offerings such as ahi tuna tartare, caviar, oysters, and a northern California shellfish tasting with Fort Bragg sea urchin and salmon roe, Dungeness crab, and a Bodega Bay clam cocktail; there are grilled oak-fired steaks (NY strip to filet mignon), a crispy chicken for two, a wagyu burger with Cowgirl Creamery cheese, pastas and pizzas, and Mina’s signature Lobster Pot Pie made with a whole Maine lobster, truffle lobster bisque, and root vegetables. Cocktail highlights include a Bungalow Margarita (Casamigos Blanco, lime, agave), Bitchin Sangria (red wine, açai liqueur, elderflower, orange, pineapple), and Spill the Tea (rye, Campari, tamarind chai–infused Italian sweet vermouth). The restaurant will take reservations for dinner and weekend brunch and will be open Wednesday–Sunday with extended late-night hours on Fridays and Saturdays." - Lauren Saria
