"Opened at the end of June in Red Hook, the lovely little storefront has just a few tables and feels right for a date night — don’t be deterred by the white tablecloths. Owner-chef Dennis Spina, known for Roebling Tea Room and more recently the kitchen at Metrograph, served a start-to-finish meal that impressed me: fried squash blossoms with honey as an app ($18), a shared skate wing with fava beans ($35), and a chicken dish with a potato tower, carrots, and capers ($32). The meal ended with a saffron rice pudding that resembled a crème brûlée; everything was simple and elegant with reasonable portion sizes, and don’t forget a side of mac and cheese for the table." - Eater Staff
