"At Le Volpi e L'Uva, a small, modern wine bar hidden away in a tiny piazzetta a few meters from the Ponte Vecchio, the owners specialize in winkling out small and lesser-known wine producers from all over Italy. So unless you're a connoisseur, the chances are that you won’t recognize many of the constantly changing wines. There are some 35 varieties offered by the glass at any one time; prices start at €4.50 (about $5) for a glass of aromatic white Kerner 2017 from Alto Adige or €5 (about $6) for a Chianti Classico Poggerino 2015 and rise to €9 (about $10) for a hefty Barolo Monforte d’Alba 2013 from Cascina Fontana. Bottles are better value, and there's a little more choice. You can also book a guided tasting or wine lesson with one of the expert sommeliers." - Coral Sisk
