"I’ve put more than a few miles on my car with the idea of indulging in—and yes, indulge is the right word—Turkey Red’s “sun salad” (it’s loaded with butternut squash, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onion, and on and on). Though once I’m seated, my brain wrestles between the salad, the beef stew of the day (always good), and the polenta topped with mozzarella and marinara sauce. Any which way, the meal always hits the spot, and I always leave with a loaf of the house-made bread and the chocolate chip cookies. Oh, vegans, this spot’s for you."
