Most people in Qatar have some serious purchasing power. This power has translated into a thirst for luxury goods, internationally known brands, and commodities available in the rest of the world. This demand has been met and now Doha offers copious shopping possibilities for locals and visitors. At The Pearl, one can shop for a Ferrari, a ball gown, or a cup of hot cocoa, and upscale shopping malls are filled with Western brands made to cure expats' homesickness. Villaggio Mall

Shopping mall · Fereej Al Amir/Muraikh/Al Soudan North

"Shop 'till you Drop Go shopping at Villagio Mall, an opulent Venetian-style shopping mall traversed by water canals and a fleet of gondolas offering rides to the shoppers. The Mall is inconspicuously partitioned into two sections: one geared to cater to middle class patrons which resembles an elegant shopping mall in the USA, and the exclusive side with high-end boutiques (Cavalli, Roles, Versace, Louis Vuitton, etc), French restaurants and designer jewelries, all under a lavish glass dome and flanked by balconies evocative of an old Italian town."

Landmark Mall

Shopping mall · Umm Lekhba

"A Relaxed Shopping Experience Landmark Mall: Landmark is located in Al Gharaffa area to the north of Doha City. The mall opened in the year 2000 and was subsequently expanded in 2008 to its current total floor area of over half a million square foot. The mall offers a relaxed shopping experience with its naturally lit open spaces and its single non-intimidating floor lined up with a mixture of high-end, prestige brands, general consumer brands and smaller new brands. The Mall's architecture resembles a typical Qatari castle and its shops are popular in Doha for top of the line luxury brands including Karen Millen, Salsa, Prada, Mango, and Dolce & Gabbana. At this mall, shoppers also have a vast choice of global as well as regional eateries, take their children to Circus Land, the mall’s indoor amusement park, or watch a movie in the multi-screen Cineplex. Landmark opens Saturday to Wednesday 09:00 AM - 10:00PM, Thursday to Friday 09:00 AM - 11:00PM"

Souq Waqif

Traditional market · Al Jasra

"Stay, Eat, Shop, Bargain at Souq Waqif Souq Waqif is one of the top tourist destinations in Doha and one of the most traditional markets in the region. A hundred years ago, this was the place where the Bedouins traded livestock, spices and general goods, but now, the old souq has been restored and the new one looks like a 19th-century Qatari market, with mud shops, exposed wooden beams, antique shops, modern art galleries, a wide variety of restaurants, and divan-like outdoor cafes to smoke shisha and drink chai-karak, the local tea. This is the perfect place to look for traditional Qatari clothing for men and women, spices, antiques, pearls, and oud--an incense as well as a perfume made from agarwood. The market is patrolled by the Heritage Police Officers who wear uniforms from the 1940s and ride regal Arabian horses. As any traditional market, bargaining is expected. Most of the shops in the souq close around 1pm and reopen at 4pm, but the many cafes and restaurants remain open all day."

City Center Mall Doha

Shopping mall · Doha

"A Mall Connected to Three Luxury Hotels City Center Mall, is centrally located in West Bay, right in the middle of the business district. It is one of Qatar’s oldest shopping centers and although currently undergoing a massive face lift, the mall is open and fully operational. The renovations connect the mall with the recently opened Shangri-La Hotel, and with the soon-to-be-opened Rotana and Merweb hotels. City Center boasts 370 stores, which unlike other upper-end shopping malls, cater to Qatar’s middle class and westerners’ budgets. With global shops such as Kipling, Adidas, Mango, Next, Nine West, Nike, Body Shop, Calvin Klein, Claire’s, Quick Silver, Crocs, and Sunglass Hut, among other, this mall is a favorite with homesick expats. The Mall hours are: Sunday - Wednesday: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm Thursday: 10:00 am - midnight Friday: 03:00 pm - midnight Saturday: 10:00 am - midnight"

Coldstone Ezdan Mall

Permanently Closed

"A Shopping Mall with Tons of American Brands There are three Ezdan Malls in the country, but the largest and most centrally located is the one in the Gharafa area. Although it is next to a newer mall, across the street from the iconic Landmark Mall, and close to a hypermarket, Ezdan has set itself apart by opening 70 first-timer shops in Qatar out of a total of 140 stores. This introduction of new brands to Qatar has made locals, expats and tourists particularly happy as now they can find brands such as Old Navy, Hallmark, Nautica, Garage, Aftershock, Aeropostale, US Polo, and others, as well as snack places such as Tim Horton’s and Papa John’s. Ezdan Mall is not overpriced and offers sought after mid and mid-up brands. Another perk that comes with shopping at Ezdan is that, unlike many other higher-end malls, this one has plenty of parking spaces (more than 2,000), most of which are in the basement, away from the heat."

Lagoona Mall

Shopping mall · Doha

"A Mall with the Option of a VIP Private Shopping Room This stylish mall is located between the iconic Zig-Zag towers. The proximity to the Grand Hyatt and the Ritz Carlton Doha Hotels, makes this mall a favorite with tourists staying in the area. It is smaller than Villaggio, Landmark and City Centre Mall, but do not let its smaller size fool you. It houses, among other exclusive boutiques, a massive Fifty One East department store offering spectacular couture, one-of-a-kind timepieces, exclusive jewelry, unique fragrances, beauty products, and even musical instruments. Lagoona Mall's Fifty One East department store, true to its philosophy that only the finest attracts the best, redefines the word “pamper” by offering its shoppers VIP rooms, where they enjoy a private shopping experience. There are lots of beautiful benches all over the mall for those not in the mood for shopping but wanting to relax to the piano music played live from the Yamaha shop. The Mall hours are: Sat-Wed 10:00 am-10:00 pm Thu 10:00 am-12:00 am, and Fri 2:00 pm-12:00 am"
